We Care
It has been a year now since the Corona virus struck our country. The Corona virus negatively affected the whole globe last year. Statistics showed that a large number of people were infected and some actually died on daily basis at a very high rate, for instance 806 people died on the 13th of June 2020 in South Africa and 10 644 on the 19th of January 2021 worldwide.
With a lot of people getting infected and dying, something had to be done. Hence scientists and doctors joined forces and actually discovered a vaccine from an international country which was imported to South Africa. Problems began after the vaccine was introduced as people raised their concerns based on the theories and myths they developed regarding the vaccine which obviously led to a lot of misinformation about it. People disapprove this vaccine as they state that it is too good to be true because there are a lot of viruses that existed before Covid19 for example HIV/AIDS massacre whose vaccine is still not yet discovered. Therefore the main question is 'how come Covid19 has a vaccine in 10 months?'
Some people especially youngsters believe that they are healthy so the assume that the vaccine will infect their immune system. Dr. Katherine then tried to give out the right information to help out with the misinformation. In her words " There were a lot of factors put together to come up with this vaccine, every component was tested in animals and it was then after a small number of people were convinced to vaccinate. Beside that everybody needs a vaccine whether healthy or not, young or old unless the individual opts to get infected".
A lot of people seem to be missing the whole point of what a vaccine is for. It actually prevents you from getting infected, there is a lot of myths and theories but truth is, we should not think of things that could oppose the vaccine, but instead get vaccinated because for the virus to end i need to get vaccinated and everybody as well.
I agree.
ReplyDeleteI support the idea of getting vaccinated because it limits the risk of infecting those around us and will help in term of everything getting back to normal
ReplyDeleteGoing back to normal *
DeleteGreat blog, thank you for the clarification. Vaccines were created for everyone’s health benefit.
ReplyDeleteSound and clear. Of course people know what a vaccine is but because of all the misinformation they consume from social media they will be brainwashed and believe what ever the media is saying about covid 19 and the vaccines .
ReplyDeleteThis whole idea of being vaccinated to me it does not make sense if we are going to still have to wear mask afterwards.. Whats the point then
ReplyDeleteIt is just a matter of trying to keep us protected I feel like as soon as they are sure that the vaccines are working then they can clear off a lot of Protocols. But for now Tripple the Protection.
DeleteThe point of the vaccine being available in such a short term as compared to other world viruses really switches out the perspective of allowing one to be vaccinated. I mean a virus so deadly and quickly spreading and that has never been seen before already has a vaccine to que it. Study shows that viruses mutated and develop so if this is the most complex desease ever seen in the world how could it be cued by a combination of experts for 10 months. I too would not agree to be vaccinated
ReplyDeleteCure*
DeleteUrg man these are really hard times for our country and the world itself Covid has made us sad and frustrated but we really hope and believe that as a Country we can Conquer this as we continue to work with our leaders by following all protocols to keep us safe.
ReplyDeleteEconomically we really need to Make sure we balance and pick up. Talking of unemployment rate has increased even worse now.
vaccines reduce infections and the impact of the virus
ReplyDeleteVery impressive blog which reminds the public that vaccines aren't made to kill people but cure the public

ReplyDeleteI totally agree, misinformation about Covid19 vaccinations have to corrected. The sooner we come to the realization that these vaccines were made to provide a level of protection and that they have the actual potential to end the virus the better for everyone of us.
ReplyDeleteI agree
ReplyDeleteEveryone has a choice to choose whether he/she wants to get vaccinated.
ReplyDeletePeople have been giving different opinions about the vaccine but i stand with this information. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteThis is the information we need, people need more education on vaccination and how it'll benefit us a nation. People do not know and they need this kind of information brought up to them more often.
ReplyDeleteWell constructed blog👌
ReplyDeleteI agree,The vaccines were proven safe and effective in large clinical trials. There is an overwhelming scientific evidence that vaccination is the best defence against this Covid 19. The covid 19 vaccine presents the body with instructions to build immunity and does not destroy human cells.
ReplyDeleteI also believe that we should all be vaccinated because we all want to go back to our normal life. Right now I cannot even hug my friends because of covid-19, it's not only about a normal life but also about living through the years. Once we vaccinate we will know that we are safe and healthy from covid-19.
ReplyDeleteThis is a very informative blog. Our government unfortunately is very incompetent and are delaying the vaccination process
ReplyDeleteSince many people have been complaining about the Covid-19 regulations, e.g the issue of wearing mask and social gatherings being limited to a certain number of people....I guess we all should take this opportunity and get vaccinated in order to be free to do what covid 19 is preventing us from doing. The vaccination is indeed an important tool to stop the pandemic.
ReplyDeleteGreat blog and very impressive way to educate the public about these vaccines
ReplyDeleteA really good attempt
